Doing a little research on the seventies for a current project. Always been one of my favourite eras, maybe its the hippy that lives in me but i think we were meant to be.

Libra ladies

Libra. The name will always remind me of feminine hygiene product adverts from the early 90's (May only apply to australians) but all that aside... as a star sign you little ladies are all about balance and justice and look cute in red xxx

thanks to the lovely libran who supplied some pretty trinkets for this illustration xxx

Happy BD Libra's!

I'm a gypsy no more. I now have my very own room to call home in Paris & this makes me happy. Happy in the colour yellow sort of way.

My new home is in my favourite area, Belleville. Quirky, eclectic, arty and a little rough around the edges.... we are a perfect match.

The energy is buzzing, walls are filled with street art, roads are rich with history & colour and I have my own pet octopus right outside my building.

Mary had a little one

For you foodies out there, this is the current illustration that I drew for Sumputous magazine. The story is actually about eating lamb... but Im hoping they would never ever eat this lamb because he is way to cute.

je ne sais quoi

I have been researching french women for a new job. I have found the perfect spot is my corner cafe, lots of french ladies there and also a couple of very cute french boys who make my coffee every morning. Bonus.

The women have a self confidence in the way they carry themselves and communicate, a sexual liberation that oozes from their pores and the way they dress, never too tight or too revealing... oh and i can't forget the way they knot their scarves... amazing.

Light the sky

Last night Cannes celebrated their liberation. The sky was lit with thousands of fireworks, to the sounds of classical composers, it was amazing, i was awe struck and the effect was so beautiful it made me tear up.... for real. I have never ever ever seen anything quite like it in my life AND never understood why people flock to fireworks - until last night. It was an art, a dance, a show with 1000 performers.

Those are some glittered dandelions i will never forget.

Little miss innocent

I know a Virgo and she is not so innocent. She can drink any man I know under the table
- that would have been quite hard to draw and not nearly as cute though.

See this little lady in this issue of Madison magazine's horoscopes, with the gorgeous Kate Hudson on the front (and my illustrations of her on the inside).

If i were a pigeon i would live in paris

That title is totally unrelated to this post, but it's true.

Paris likes posters. They are everywhere. There are more posters here than pigeons and they are good looking posters...

This is one i saw in the metro tonight.
i cant find the name of the artist so if you have an idea of who it might be, let us know. It is for a duo called brigitte and this is their song.

Three times a lady.

Two years ago frauleins playthings was my first exhibition ever... one of the reasons frauleins holds a very special place in my heart.

frauleins - three times a lady is the third instalment from this group of beauties. The massive opening night crowds have meant that the frauleins have moved into a bigger venue.... AND have invited more ladies to join... yay!

This time round there are 11 frauleins.... Naomi Murrell :: Katrina Weber :: Ruby Chew :: Peta Alannah Chigwidden :: Georgia Gabrielle :: Joelie Croser :: Anna Creasy :: Kate Gagliardi :: Lisa King and very special guest artist from melbs the lovely Bec Winnel and ME.

The frauleins are about passionate girls doing what they love. From this comes some amazing art. I suggest if you are in adelaide come check it out. With out a doubt some of adelaide's best young creatives in this bunch.

Opens wednesday night (june 1st) @ Gallery on Waymouth.

more info is on our facebook event page

Hi Gemini's, I did this little lady for you. Had a play with the idea of the twins and the mirror image AND all the gem's i know are sassy minxes, a little quirky and do have a split personality (in the best possible way)... happy bday, i hope you like xx

Wrap me up

There are a handful of things in life that warm your soul from the inside out. Here is a combo to toast mine…

Outside a dark sky, pencil in hand, the rain tapping on the window, cheeks are rosy from the heater, the sweet sounds of my favourite songs trickling from the speakers and I’m enveloped in the aroma of homemade broth on the boil.

Wrap me up in this, it’s every shade of warm.

I’m working on Madison horoscopes. Miss Taurus above, little bull fighter. You can see her in the current issue with Natalie Portman on the cover. Gemini out any day now.

ode to bike

Last week i won a bike. Amazing... huh! Its red and shiny.

Bikes and i have a history, we are not meant to be, for every time i get one it quickly parts from me. And so, this bike and me.... what will be?

Im leaving for overseas in 2 months... so I'm afraid our romance will be short lived.

You are by far the prettiest bike i've ever had and i love you to bits but lets be real... i will leave and find another bike to move me forward and you will stay here, stationary and beautiful, your inability to move on your own will make you rusty and deflated but i will never forget you pretty red bike.

Song in head. Hand on heart

Nearly every morning i wake up with a song in my head. Perhaps it's my sub conscious trying to tell me something. Music and art go together nicely so i'm not complaining.

A beautiful example of how this is true is Sparkadia's new album cover above (The Great Impression - coming out March 18), created by the super talented aussie illustrator Kareena Zerefos. Read more here

Meanwhile, the dj in my head keeps playing this track.... every morning without fail lately. Enjoy. James Blake - limit to your love.
